Boukak is a digital loyalty platform. It is owned and operated by Bitaqat Al Wafi for Information Technology (Commercial Registration No. 2050198251), based in Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal data across our website, our loyalty card registration pages, and our merchant platform.
2. Who This Policy Applies To
This policy applies to visitors of our website, merchants who subscribe to Boukak, and customers who register for a loyalty card through a merchant using Boukak.
When you are a merchant, Boukak is the controller of your business account information.
When you are a customer who joins a merchant's loyalty program, the merchant is the controller of your information, and Boukak processes it on the merchant's behalf to operate the program.
3. Information We Collect
Merchant information: business name, activity type, business location, phone number, email address, commercial registration and licenses when requested, and billing details.
Customer information: the fields a merchant configures for their program, which may include first and last name, phone number, email address, date of birth, gender, and other details the merchant requests, along with your chosen card language.
Wallet pass identifiers: if you add your card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, we store the device and pass identifiers and push tokens needed to keep your card updated.
Activity data: visits, stamps, points, cashback balances, purchase totals linked to your card, and reward redemptions.
Demo data: if you try our interactive demo, we collect the shop name, phone number, and card type you enter, for demonstration purposes only.
Technical data: standard server logs used to operate and secure our website, and your light/dark theme preference, which is stored only in your own browser.
4. How We Use Information
We use this information to operate loyalty cards and merchant accounts, issue and redeem stamps, points, cashback, or discounts, generate and update digital wallet passes, deliver the notifications a merchant configures for their customers, give merchants reports on their program, respond to support requests, and meet our legal obligations.
Boukak does not use customer information to send its own marketing messages. Every notification a customer receives is configured and sent by the merchant whose program they joined, through tools Boukak provides.
5. Consent
By registering for a loyalty card, subscribing to Boukak as a merchant, or otherwise using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. We do not require a separate consent step beyond registering or subscribing to the service.
6. Digital Wallet Passes and Notifications
Boukak issues digital cards for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. Installing a pass shares limited device and pass identifiers with Apple and/or Google so your card can update automatically and show notifications configured by the merchant on your lock screen.
7. Who We Share Information With
We share personal data with the merchant whose loyalty program a customer has joined, since they own that relationship, with our hosting and infrastructure providers who run our platform and database, with Apple and Google to issue and update wallet passes, and with government or judicial authorities where required by law. We do not sell personal data to third parties.
8. Data Retention
We retain customer data for as long as a loyalty card remains active with a merchant, and merchant account and billing data for the length of the subscription, in both cases for as long afterward as needed to meet legal or accounting requirements.
9. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your Rights
Subject to the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. If you joined a loyalty program through a merchant, please contact that merchant first, since they control your data; if you contact us instead, we will forward your request to them. For anything relating to data we hold as a merchant, or about this policy in general, contact us using the details below.
11. Children
Boukak is intended for use by adults registering business or loyalty accounts. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without appropriate parental or guardian consent.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect from the revised effective date shown at the top of this page, and continuing to use our services after that date means you accept the update.
